History

Founded by father and son team, Harry and Ralph Rossdeutscher, Natura was created out of a desire to solve the mystery behind having a healthier, more abundant lifestyle. As research led to the discovery of just how much a quality night’s sleep contributed to a productive daily lifestyle, Natura’s founders searched for a solution that would help people sleep well in order to live better. As a result, in 1994, Natura World, Inc was born.

Rossdeutscher and Son found that, while many mattresses on the market looked plush and luxurious and even felt comfortable when tested in the store, these mattresses failed to address the more serious long term issues such as continual back pain, restless sleep, and waking up groggy and tired. They discovered that consumers were in need of healthy sleep in order to respond to the demands of the day. The Rossdeutscher team set out to create a total sleep solution with benefits that were more than just “skin deep.”

Researching how the body moves and body activity during sleep, they created a bed that was designed to work with the body, not against it. Their Classic IV bed with its patented Double Slat Technology was an immediate success. The bed was received enthusiastically by consumers and was both endorsed and recommended by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. This started the ball rolling towards the creation of a luxurious, healthy line of natural bedding, as well as the manufacturing of numerous innovative sleep enhancing products to help people wake up to a better day.

Realizing that customers’ sleeping preferences can differ dramatically, Natura integrated Naturlatex™ Talalay latex into their lineup as well. With its capacity to meet personal sleeping needs by instantly reacting to the natural individual contours of the body, Naturlatex™ Talalay latex keeps the spine in its natural, most comfortable position. The durable, resilient nature of this latex means that consumers no longer have to worry about flipping or turning their mattress to keep it comfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a firm mattress offer the best support?

No. The best support is achieved when your mattress conforms exactly to the natural contours of your body. A mattress should fill in the “arch areas”(lumbar and knee regions) without pushing against sensitive pressure areas such as shoulders and hips.

What is the main difference between your Naturlatex™ latex mattresses?

The main difference between most Natura mattresses lies in their comfort, otherwise known as the “surface feel.” (Please note: comfort does not indicate level of support. All Natura mattresses offer perfect, contouring support in the mattress core.) The most comfortable mattress will be a personal choice, depending on how plush you like your mattress surface to be.

Is your latex all natural?

All of our Organic latex mattresses plus our Naturlatex Summit mattress are 100% natural.

I am having a problem with my mattress. How do I make a warranty claim?

If you have a warranty claim, you should first contact the retailer where you purchased your Natura mattresses.

How do I care for my Natura wool-filled bedding products?

Natura wool-filled bedding products CAN NOT be put in the washing machine or dryer. Natura wool-filled bedding can be spot treated with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Gently hand squeeze excess water from product. DO NOT twist or wring product. Lay flat to dry. Products can also be dry cleaned, following strict instructions on the care label.

I took my Natura wool-filled bedding to be dry cleaned and they ruined it. What should I do?

Natura wool-filled duvets and mattress pads can be successfully dry-cleaned following the exact instructions on the care label. Please check with your dry-cleaner regarding their damage/replacement policy.
